The Gold Standard Opens September 18

The Senior Self Portrait Exhibition, "The Gold Standard" is the Visual Arts Department's kick off for the year. Students representing communities from around the state of Minnesota create two self portraits based on research of culture and an artist. The assignment, given to them in June, develops over the summer and introduces each student to their peers and faculty the first two weeks of school. It replaces their Junior Summer Show in the gallery. The growth summer brings is evident and the year is off on a great adventure.

The class plans, designs and assembles this exhibit. It reflects the face of the class. Each presentation is unique to the
students who participate. There will be food, music, good conversation and company for all who attend. The exhibit is open to
the wider community. We welcome new faces and the ideas they often bring.

The opening is on Thursday, September 18 from 5:30-7:30. The exhibit will be up until October 31. Appointments can be made to see the show
if one cannot attend the opening by calling 763-591-4700.
